well I do get on myspace and facebook sometimes but they become redundant.....actually all communities become redundant...so I guess I dont have a favorite! Y! Answers is pretty interesting though...

It's super easy to create profiles and blogs, and find other people with similar interests or in your area. I've been using it for more than two years and met lots of great people on there. Also, they just added a forum which seems to be pretty popular so far.

Reply:Overall the game with the best community that I've ever played with was probably Guild Wars. People were pretty helpful when I was new and I made more friends on that game then WOW or Everquest.

I have used project playlist and it is horrible..half the time the songs dont work.
The best website is imeem but now the songs are going to 30 seconds. I loved listening to my playlist at work.. I am more of an early 70s/80s old school/classic r%26amp;b type fan.
Also, dont tell me about uploading or downloading my own music. I just want a playlist to listen to which would equal listening to the radio.

You need to offer something thats COMPLETLY new and different than all those other online community websites, myspace, bebo, facebook ect. If you dont have something big that they dont have then its not likely that your going to succeed.
You can promote it either on the web, or in 'real life' or both. Depending on your budget or how much money your willing to pay to promote it. I, personally would start off using the internet, seeing as though its an internet service, they're are plenty of free 'advetise here' websites that could get you more popular. However, before wasting your money on advertising, I would sort out the actual site, to be brutally honest, its not at all apealling and you really need to sort out who your target audience is, from the way your site looks now, I cant see it being much of a sucess.

Afraid to join online community?
I'm afraid to join myspace, myyearbook of facebook ,because lots of ppl in my school are there and I don't get along with them. Plus, it is kind of embarrasing for me if they come upon my profile and see that I have no friends, making me look desperate...I know it sounds stupid....what should I do then?

on facebook you can set your privacy settings so that no one, not even your friends, can see your other friends or your wall. If you hide your wall, no one will be able to post on it, so it will stay empty, but if you're embarrassed it might help at least until you get some friends :)

A time will come though when you'll realize that it really doesnt matter what other people think of you. just put yourself out there, and if no one likes you for who you are...tough. they're the ones missing out. You shouldnt join one of these until your comfortable with who you are. hope that helps

Don't worry about not getting along with people at school. Kids are very judgemental and scared of anyone who's smarter or a little different than they are. When you're in school, you're judged by what you look like and how much you act like your classmates. When you graduate and enter the real world, your differences are what make you a fascinating friend for people...imagine how boring the world would be if everyone really was exactly alike. Another thing about school...fitting in seems like a huge deal, but a year or two after you've gotten out, you'll be lucky if you can remember the names of more than 20 people at the school...right now they're your whole world but they won't matter much at all once you don't see them every day.
