Do any of you belong to an online community?

I really enjoy Seniorocity http://www.seniorocity.com -- it has a very fun and witty group of people and it usually brightens my day. Of course, I'm also part of the Yahoo answers community!

I was wondering if any of you also belong to any online communities, other than Y.A. Some of my friends think that online communities are just for teenagers, and I have to straighten them out! :-)

Do any of you belong to an online community?
Myspace and a couple of Freecycle groups. Thinking about joining senioroctiy because of the good things I have heard about it here.
Reply:Myspace %26amp; IMDb (Internet Movie Database).

I consider myspace for anyone. You find the young %26amp; the old there. Anyone and everyone can be on there. Reconnect with old friends %26amp; make new friends. Just chat or whatever, have fun.

IMDb you find the young and the old there too, but its a little more for the young. Many people on there are young %26amp; immature. They fight all the time.
Reply:There's a couple of predominately senior groups I pop in on from time to time.
Reply:I also belong to a Google online community. It is a small group from all around the world. Very interesting.
Reply:Yes, I belong to an online discussion and fun site for seniors; their friends and offspring; and I am a member of another forum also where I've been since 1999...I also am a member of a Y! group that is comprised of folk I went to high school with in France in the 50's.
Reply:no i just could not find the time!!!
Reply:No I have tried several. Just haven't found the right fit yet. Will keep trying.
Reply:I do. I belong to Delphi Forums. I participated in the Callahan's Saloon forum for several years, although I haven't visited recently. I also used to belong to an online support forum for an illness I had a few years ago, it was terrific.

I'm also working with a group that is creating a forum for colleagues from my volunteer work. We'll have message boards, an announcement area, and maybe even a chat room some day.
Reply:I do not belong in any other online community, they are typically elitist and closed group. Yes, I believe that YA was really created for the teens and pre-teens. I don't know why YA do not segregate it, adult/mature and younger and young adults.
Reply:I belong to Freecycle and the St. Louis Chat Cafe.
Reply:Yes, there are quite a few I drop in to chat. Besides YA, there is Birds and Blooms, Wired Seniors, and a couple of private ones started by friends.

I've learned so much from people all around the world by chatting in these Forums.
