I have used project playlist and it is horrible..half the time the songs dont work.
The best website is imeem but now the songs are going to 30 seconds. I loved listening to my playlist at work.. I am more of an early 70s/80s old school/classic r%26amp;b type fan.
Also, dont tell me about uploading or downloading my own music. I just want a playlist to listen to which would equal listening to the radio.

You need to offer something thats COMPLETLY new and different than all those other online community websites, myspace, bebo, facebook ect. If you dont have something big that they dont have then its not likely that your going to succeed.

I'm afraid to join myspace, myyearbook of facebook ,because lots of ppl in my school are there and I don't get along with them. Plus, it is kind of embarrasing for me if they come upon my profile and see that I have no friends, making me look desperate...I know it sounds stupid....what should I do then?

on facebook you can set your privacy settings so that no one, not even your friends, can see your other friends or your wall. If you hide your wall, no one will be able to post on it, so it will stay empty, but if you're embarrassed it might help at least until you get some friends :)

Another thing about school...fitting in seems like a huge deal, but a year or two after you've gotten out, you'll be lucky if you can remember the names of more than 20 people at the school...right now they're your whole world but they won't matter much at all once you don't see them every day.

Hello. I'm not talking about WoW or runescape communities, but runescape has it's own problems. I'm talking about online gaming communities on console games. A lot of the games I play online using a headset I often get bashed because of my age. I'm 14, And i don't try to make myself sound older when i talk like many do, i just use my normal voice. As you may know, most of gamers are over 20. Often, when encountering someone young like myself they feel the need to insult you and not take you seriously. I often find myself taking off my headset because sometimes if I talk just once everybody there starts insulting me. Why just today, i was playing socom and I was killed by a sniper. I said "ahh crap i died." and instantly someone who I assumed to be in his 40s started saying things like. "You f..king kid get out of here." And "what are you 12?" I was pleased to see the guy get killed by the same sniper,

Unfortunately, my 12 year old daughter is one of them. We will be playing games on our Game Cube at home as a family and she will get so involved in the game to where she gets mean and out of control. We're talking games from James Bond to Mario Party. It doesn't matter if she's winning or losing. I've stood up and left the room and/or turned off the game before because she gets so bad. Before we start playing, I always need to warn her that if she starts to get out of hand... the game goes off. Then during the games I will need to remind her several times too. The only time she can control herself is if she's playing by herself without any competition. She's a good, sweet girl that still likes princesses, Barbies, and other girl stuff. But when it involves games and competition... something wicked comes out in her.
You're still young and you probably haven't been exposed to playing games at home with a large variety of people. Playing games online does. So you are now getting to experience the way people can be while playing games. It's not going to end with video games either Mike. When you get into High School you're going to find out that it's the same way with playing sports.

Orthopedic shoes for clubfoot infants...is there an online community?
My child has club foot and we have this special metal brace with shoes attached for my child and I was wondering if there was some place online where parents trade shoes or sell them for lesser money than retail....my child has outgrown his and I'd gladly trade/sell his old shoes for ones that are his size now....if there is a site that does offers this beacuse the shoes cost over 100 dollars and i know he will keep outgrowing them and I'll keep having to get newer ones later on.

I was looking for information about launching a virtual community. I was looking for detailed info. about the best what to launch it, how to generate the user base, when to launch it etc. If some one can point me to some resources or tell me how it is done, that would be great!

Is the WoW/Guild Wars online community a friendly lot?
I love RPG's,and when I play them at home(not online),I am pretty good at all of them.But I have never done an online game before,and am wondering how new gamers are treated? Are there special clans/factions,etc. that are for senior gamers?I'm 60/F,and just love killing monsters and doing quests.

I didn't find WoW gamers to be very friendly. I played it before I played Guild Wars. I've found the Guild Wars community a lot more friendly than I did WoW. Also, you don't have a monthly fee to play Guild wars like you do with WoW. ($180 per year!)
I'm also somewhat of a "senior gamer" as I'm in my 40's.

I am in the beginning phases of developing a community geared toward a specific demographic of people. I am a web designer and I'm creating this personally. Does anybody know if it would even be a good idea to look for investors or contact companies to sponsor the website before it takes off so that I can gain initial funds to focus on the website? From there, everyone who donated in some way will get to vote on what type of civic-minded project the money will go to to restore the Village and add new community things.

i have read some community boards. boards of different interest and hobbies.
but when the discussions are getting critical, and in my opinion, i read people's ideas and saying a good points, the boards are trying to stop the discussion even if it matters are someones elses important concerns. sometime even life or death.
based on what i am seeing, some other boards are just hang outs and not really helpful.

My big concern is buying three products and then having problems with the user names synching up. I'm curious to know, what are the top picks for doing this task. Preferably for under $600. I'd also be interested in any hosted products that do this. Please keep in mind that my knowledge of computer programming only consists of limited VB and using Frontpage.

What is your favorite online photography community site, and why?
I have been looking for a place online that helps people form local clubs, in the area where they live, as well as share their favorite shooting locations, and any particular details about these locations. So far I have not found one site like that. So, I am wondering whether or not something like it exists. And if not, perhaps I should start building a community driven site that would connect photographers in this manner. Thanks All.

It has social meetings called "Flickr MeetUps" where Flickr photographers and non-Flickr members gather to go photo shooting at a location they planned and scheduled a month ahead. These are usually monthly meetings. These meetings can be local, in the city, what ever place interesting, convenient for everyone to meet in the middle. I think it was a group in New York that even went on a camping trip together! Now that's fun.

To what extent should we hunt (online) and inform on self confessed pedophiles?
If some one posts on a blog
"I am a pedophile but I dont abuse children"
should we give them the benefit of the doubt? This guys arguement is that he is a "pedosexual" he is attracted to children (boys in particular) and that there is nothing wrong with that.
Its when you cross the line (he says) that you commit an actual crime your in the wrong.
Im not trying to sound like the thought police here, but I dont feel comfortable knowing people are in my community that profess to being sexually attracted to children and see that as being OK.
I have challeneged this individual to an open debate in a public arena, such as a FOX/CNN/BBC discussion board.
But what else can we do? Should we (as citizens) take pre-emptive steps to protect our children, or let the guy be free to roam and get aroused by our children?

#1. People shouldn't be shot for what they think but for what they do. But even if somone is not actively doing it themselves, they may be promoting atrocities by others.
#2 For someone to come out and say they are a non-practicing pedophile means what?
#3 These guys have an agenda. Child-lovers want their practice to be accepted, so they have learned from the homosexuals how to use the media to promote their ideas. I think they believe if they just keep saying long and loud in the media that their actions are okay and should be acceptable, that people will accept them.
#4 How is pedophila not abuse? Consentual sex can sometimes be damaging (i.e. between teenagers).
#5 There is more to life than sex and the sex drive. Can't we learn to define ourselves based on something more? You know, sometimes I have the influence to kill someone because I am so angry or because of what they have done to me. But I nerver have and never would. Most of us control our bad impulses and are not ruled by them.
#6 We must realize that some have been falsely accused of child sex abuse. So we must be careful to judge too soon, without enough facts.
#7 Having said all that, yes, practicing pedophiles should all be shot or killed in a horrific manner.

Even though he claims not to abuse children, the fact that this guy doesn't think anything is wrong shows that he's not stable. And a unstable pedophile can attack at anytime. This guy needs help. 1) I hate when people use the excuse that their behavior is due to a disease. First off, pedophilia may very well be a disease, but acting upon your wrong desires is different than merely having them. If it isn't a disease, then these people need to be locked away, because it's something they've done and could do again. If it is a disease that cannot be controlled, they need to be locked away, because it's something they've done and could do again. It's not a punishment thing for me, it's about prevention. I hear people say that you are never cured of pedophilia, which is all the more reason to not keep them around general society.
2) Pedophilia is a valid sexual orientation, in my view. Just like all sexuality, I believe that it is not genetic, but not a 'choice'- your desires do not come from DNA, but they are innate and unconscious. And no sexuality is inherently wrong . . . it's what you do with it that is wrong. Being attracted to children is not wrong, although it makes most people sick (me included). It is having sex with children that is without a doubt morally wrong. The line is simple, but it's the legitimate worry about someone crossing the line that gets everyone in a tizzy.
3) You have to do something wrong to be guilty. Working off my statement that pedophilia as an attraction, not an act, is morally neutral, then the act must be committed in order for the person to have done wrong. Therefore, I am strongly against pre-emption, for pre-emption presumes guilt, rather than the code we try to live by of 'innocent until proven guilty'. If you work off the idea that all pedophilia- attraction or the act- is wrong, then of course, the person will be instantaneously guilty if the person's desires are revealed. But in my mind, only when someone has abused a child are they guilty, and thereafter, they should be locked away as a preventative measure.
I think we need to determine the words 'self-confessed pedophile'- does that mean confessing to the attraction or to having committed the act? If it's the former, we should certainly not hunt them down (online). If it's the latter, by all means, go ahead.
In some ways, I think the Internet is the worst thing and the best thing for pedophiles. On the bad hand, it increases trade in child pornography, encourages pedophiles to act on their desires, and generally gives rise to more of them. But on the other hand, it can be a positive place where individuals can get together to (hopefully) speak rationally about their desires and handling them without acting on them- this would be a good place, for example, writing erotic stories that get the trick done, instant messaging one another taking turns pretending to be young children (rather than sexually soliciting our youth), and sharing the perfectly legal computer-generated pornography that creates the illusion of children engaging in sexual acts. In this way, rather than tamping down the feelings to the point of their moving into action, they are freely expressed and relieved.
I know that it's not nice to think about, but I try to approach it with a calm, rational manner that will protect our children without vilifying those who have, as of yet, done no wrong.

Pedophilia has little to nothing to do with adult sexuality at all. Pedophiles don't even take into consideration the gender of their victims. They usually go after what is available to them.
Any adult who suggests that sexual relationships between adults and minors are normal is in need of counseling.
Minors are unable to make emotionally mature descissions, this is why we have laws to protect our children. (Yeah, I said "OUR" children....don't forget gays and lesbians have children too!)
Any adult who claims to be sexually attracted to legal minors are endangering ALL OUR CHILDREN!
No Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual or Transgendered organization has EVER backed, associated with or aided NAMBLA (The North American Man/Boy Love AssociationThe North American Man/Boy Love Association) EVER.
No Pride Parade associations allow NAMBLA to march along with other ADULT gays/lesbians.
These are people who are attempting to justify endangerment through misuse of the word "love" and it's consequences.

Like...maybe if they keep going "grr, that thinking's wrong" then they're just going to suppress it until it comes to a critical mass, and then they'll end up acting on it. Or, maybe the thoughts lead to action no matter what. I'd honestly ask experts before I formed an opinion on the matter. I definitely don't think anything can / should be done if someone says they have the thoughts: the most you can really do is WATCH these people.

If you have children at home and you haven't checked your states sex offender list, you had better. You'd be surprised at who lives in your neighborhood.
