i have read some community boards. boards of different interest and hobbies.
but when the discussions are getting critical, and in my opinion, i read people's ideas and saying a good points, the boards are trying to stop the discussion even if it matters are someones elses important concerns. sometime even life or death.
based on what i am seeing, some other boards are just hang outs and not really helpful.
Does online community boards do really serve the community?
Yes thats true and I agree with you.
Take for examples Yahoo Answers Philippines (YAP), there's only one person that ruined the community this guy named "WELL" he got 4 or 5 clones just to earned points.
From that point of view the essence of serving the community board is gone.
