I have been looking for a place online that helps people form local clubs, in the area where they live, as well as share their favorite shooting locations, and any particular details about these locations. So far I have not found one site like that. So, I am wondering whether or not something like it exists. And if not, perhaps I should start building a community driven site that would connect photographers in this manner. Thanks All.

Reply:Flickr is worth looking into. It has social meetings called "Flickr MeetUps" where Flickr photographers and non-Flickr members gather to go photo shooting at a location they planned and scheduled a month ahead. These are usually monthly meetings. These meetings can be local, in the city, what ever place interesting, convenient for everyone to meet in the middle. I think it was a group in New York that even went on a camping trip together! Now that's fun.
